영국의 첩보원 닉 엘리엇과 킴 필비는 오랜 친구다. 하지만 필비는 소련의 이중 첩자이자 영국 역사상 최악의 배신자였다. 냉전이 한창이던 1960년대, 필비의 소련 망명 사건으로 영국과 미국의 정보부는 심각한 타격을 입는다.
