Waar gaat Mobile Suit Gundam ZZ over?
Het jaar is Universal Century 0088. Direct na het einde van de Gryps-oorlog beginnen Haman Karn en haar leger van Zeon-overblijfselen op de asteroïde As aan hun zoektocht om het verloren rijk van de Zabi's nieuw leven in te blazen, en roepen zichzelf uit tot de Neo-Zeon. Nu de Earth Federation net zo ongelukkig is als altijd, kan alleen de Anti-Earth Union Group (AEUG) zich verzetten tegen de plannen van Neo-Zeon. Het AEUG-schip Argama heeft alle hulp nodig die het kan krijgen nadat het in de vorige oorlog was gedecimeerd en veel van zijn belangrijkste leden had verloren, en roept de hulp in van een jonge rommelverzamelaar uit de Side 1-kolonie Shangri-La, genaamd Judau Ashta, om zijn nieuwste mobiele pak, de ZZ Gundam te besturen .
