Dursun is an idealistic teacher. He has a happy family with his wife and son (Arkadaş). Despite being unemployed and penniless, he neither looks for work nor accepts any job. At the urging of his friends, he begins giving private lessons to a student. He starts to earn some money. While intoxicated, he is involved in an accident, and his condition is critical. Everyone is at his bedside in the hospital. They ask the doctor, "Will he survive?" The doctor replies, "He needs a reason to live." His friend hugs him and cries. Dursun opens his eyes and smiles.
